Audi Quattro is a road and rally car which is produced by the German Automobile Manufacturer, Audi. The car first came to public view on March 3rd, 1980. Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2, a specific model in the Quattro series which was launched in the year 1985, became the most successful venture. The manufacturers aim to keep the rpm rate of the car as high as possible. This helps the engine gear up with full power immediately after full throttle. The car has won more than three trophies in the hands of different drivers in a span of 5 years after its launch.

Ford GT40:

Ford GT40 is a high-end racing car that was manufactured by Ford Advanced Vehicles. The production of these cars took place from 1964 to 1969. This car is a vintage model that the makers are still proud of. This model of Ford won a series of awards and honors within a short span of 5 years of its existence. It is also believed that the name ‘GT40’ is only a nickname after witnessing the other names that came in the series. It participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and came out successfully bagging the first place for 4 consecutive years. It is the only car that was entirely designed and built in the USA

Porsche 917:

Chief engineer Hans Mezger designed Porsche 917 under the guidance of Ferdinand and Helmuth. The car was built with remarkable technology. It was the first 12 cylinder car under the Porsche banner. It was built with components like titanium, magnesium and other exotic alloys. This model was first seen in the racing field in the year 1968. In the years 1970 and 1971 Porsche 917 won the 24 Hour Le Mans honor.

Mazda 787B:

Already the list has a lot of cars that won the Le Mans honor but there is something else that makes Mazda 787B  stand out. It is the only Japanese car that won the Le Mans honor. It was also widely acclaimed as the best sounding race engine. Many other Japanese manufacturers who are successfully running the show today, still cannot pull off the feat that was accomplished by Mazda 787B in the year 1991. This car was a limited edition model. Only two cars were manufactured in the year 1990, and three newer models were built in the year 1991. Chaparral 2J:

Chaparral 2J is considered as the most extreme race car of America. Chaparral is one brand which consists of series of cars. However, 2J was considered unusual among the series. The American Formula One racers Hap Sharp and Jim Hall founded the car. The name Chaparral was named after the road runner cuckoo. The car was unveiled in the year 1967. Though the users registered complaints regarding the technical specifications, the car will still be remembered for its sturdy appearance and impeccable performance.
